As an illustrator and former designer, freelancing for over 15 years, I have been lucky enough to be able to combine my creative passion with my passion of supporting causes that have a positive impact on social issues, the environment and the Arts.
I have been working with sustainable businesses and institutions of various kinds: I’ve worked with community organizations, environmental activists, green businesses, artists, movie makers, museums and social institutions. I have had long-term relationships with creative agencies like Conscious Creative in Berkeley, California, and non-profit organizations like The DO School in Hamburg (now Berlin).
I do what I can as a creative person to have a positive impact on my community.
I am a passionate illustrator and I love to inspire people through art and illustration. I feel that in a lot of cases, it is really true that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” (Even though I do enjoy the text-image pairing a lot.) I am fascinated by the ability of images to spirit the spectator away into some other realities and to initiate contemplation on an intuitive level.
I love listening to the sound of pencil on paper, smelling the aroma of oils or pastels and watching my fingers getting sprinkled with ink — while being repeatedly surprised, observing creatures and scenes that emerge in front of my eyes on paper.
Born in southern Germany, I studied design in Kassel, Germany and Valencia, Spain. In 2010, after a six-year long San Francisco adventure, I moved from the Bay Area to the city of water in Germany: Hamburg.
I am a big fan of nature, yoga, dance, music and the Arts, and enjoy them within a joyfully busy family life while engaging myself in social issues through art and illustration.
Have a look around. And if you feel like working on a project together, or if you’d just like to say hello, please do so — I’d love to hear from you!
